Saga continues: Victor Osimhen’s Transfer to Chelsea Edges Closer as Personal Terms Are Agreed

Napoli Striker Nears Stamford Bridge Move, But Napoli’s Release Clause Remains a Sticking Point

Victor Osimhen’s much-anticipated move to Chelsea has made significant progress, with the Napoli striker reportedly agreeing on personal terms with the Premier League giants. Chelsea have pursued the 25-year-old Nigerian international throughout the summer, though a major obstacle remains—Napoli’s insistence on receiving the full €130 million release clause for the player.

While Chelsea have not yet met this hefty price tag, the Blues have moved closer to securing Osimhen’s services by reaching a “general understanding” with the player on personal terms. This development was reported by football transfer expert Rudy Galetti, who said: “Chelsea have reached a general understanding on personal terms with Victor Osimhen.”

Galetti added that the Premier League club is now preparing to enter talks with Napoli over a potential deal for the striker, though negotiations regarding payment terms remain ongoing.

Osimhen, who earns approximately €11 million annually at Napoli, has previously been linked to a move to Paris Saint-Germain, where he was reportedly offered €12 million per year. Chelsea, however, appear to have outlasted PSG and Arsenal in the race for the forward, despite lingering interest from Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal. Fabrizio Romano had previously revealed the Middle Eastern club’s interest, but for now, Galetti confirmed that no Saudi Pro League team is actively pursuing Osimhen.

“As of now, Victor is no longer a target for the Saudi Pro League,” Galetti stated, while also noting that this could change if an agreement between Napoli and Chelsea is not reached before the European transfer window closes.

Talks between the two clubs are ongoing, with Chelsea reportedly still looking to include a player in the deal. The resolution of these negotiations will be pivotal in determining whether Osimhen makes his highly anticipated switch to Stamford Bridge.
