The Arsenal winger reflects on a century of goal involvements and completing a full 90 minutes, signaling a return to form after early-season injury struggles.
In a moment of personal and collective triumph, Bukayo Saka sealed Arsenal’s 2-0 victory over West Ham with a confident penalty, capping a performance that meant much more than just three points. The goal marked his 100th Premier League goal involvement, a landmark achievement that coincided perfectly with his 200th appearance in the competition.
“There’s a lot to celebrate – a beautiful win, another goal and 200 appearances as well,” a beaming Saka said after the final whistle. “So, happy days.”
The milestone is particularly sweet for the 24-year-old, who has been battling hamstring issues that have limited his playing time this season. After spending frustrating weeks watching from the stands, he is now cherishing being back on the pitch. “I’m very proud, I don’t take these moments for granted,” he shared. “I’m going to enjoy it tonight and come back after the break ready to go again.”
Perhaps even more encouraging than the goal was the sight of Saka completing a full 90 minutes for only the second time this season. “I’m feeling good that I’ve got the 90 minutes out of the way now,” he admitted. “Towards the end, I’m a bit tired if I’m honest, but that’s normal. I’m happy to get the 90 minutes in my legs.”
With Arsenal now on a four-game winning streak across all competitions, Saka believes the team is finding its rhythm. He will now join the England squad, hoping to build on his fitness during the international break before returning for what he sees as a promising campaign.
“We’ve had some really tough fixtures,” Saka noted. “But I think we can be happy with what we have now going into the break, and we’re in a strong position to come back and push on to the end of the season.”
