Hamstring injury rules winger out of Liverpool clash and international duty, as doubtful Ødegaard also races to be fit.
Arsenal’s Premier League ambitions have suffered a significant setback with the news that star winger Bukayo Saka is expected to be out for up to four weeks with a hamstring injury. The 23-year-old will miss Sunday’s crucial trip to Liverpool and is also ruled out of England’s World Cup qualifiers next month.
Saka was forced off during the second half of Saturday’s 5-0 win over Leeds United. The estimated month-long absence is a worrying recurrence for the forward, who missed three months of last season with a similar issue.

In a further concern for manager Mikel Arteta, captain Martin Ødegaard is also a major doubt for the Anfield fixture. The Norwegian playmaker suffered a shoulder injury in the first half against Leeds and was later seen leaving the stadium with his arm in a sling.
Despite the double blow, there is cautious optimism at the club that neither injury is a long-term problem. The news on Saka, in particular, has been met with relief given his previous lengthy layoff.
Arteta will now have to rely on his squad’s reinforced depth. Summer signings Viktor Gyokeres, Noni Madueke, and Eberechi Eze are in line for increased responsibility, while Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Martinelli, and promising academy talent will be called upon to fill the void left by their two most creative forces.
