Salah and Mac Allister Shine as Liverpool Beat Bologna to Continue Perfect Champions League Start

Reds maintain 100% record with 2-0 victory at Anfield

Mohamed Salah and Alexis Mac Allister were on target as Liverpool extended their flawless start to the UEFA Champions League campaign with a 2-0 win over Bologna at Anfield.

Liverpool began brightly, with Mac Allister opening the scoring in the 11th minute, converting a perfectly weighted cross from Salah to score his first-ever Champions League goal.

Bologna responded with a few dangerous moments, twice hitting the woodwork late in the first half, but the Italian side couldn’t find the breakthrough.

In a more subdued second half, Salah put the result beyond doubt in the 75th minute, curling a brilliant shot into the top corner to become the first Liverpool player to score in five consecutive Champions League home games.

The victory keeps Liverpool’s European campaign on track as they now turn their focus back to the Premier League, where they will face Crystal Palace. Bologna, meanwhile, will look to bounce back against Parma in Serie A.

Under new manager Arne Slot, Liverpool’s strong start continues, with eight wins in nine matches across all competitions. While there are areas for improvement as the team adjusts to Slot’s style, the early results show promise, with tougher challenges ahead against Chelsea and Arsenal after the international break.
