The North London club, still stinging from seeing their own deal for Eberechi Eze intercepted by Arsenal last week, has now submitted a formal offer believed to be close to Leipzig’s €70 million asking price. According to an exclusive from Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, “No offer from Chelsea yet,” putting Spurs in the driver’s seat for the Dutch international’s signature.
Simons, who is already in London, had previously agreed on personal terms with Chelsea. However, the Blues’ delay in finalizing a deal with Leipzig has opened the door for a rival bid.
