Tacha Sets Sights on World Record at Inaugural Beauty Festival in Lagos

Media Star Aims for 150 Makeovers in 24 Hours to Showcase Nigeria’s Booming Beauty Industry

Nigerian media personality and entrepreneur Tacha Akide is launching a spectacular celebration of style and talent this October with the first-ever Tacha Beauty Festival, a three-day event that will culminate in an ambitious bid for the Guinness World Record.

Scheduled for October 10–12, 2025, at the John Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture & History in Lagos, the festival will blend beauty, business, and culture—but all eyes will be on Tacha herself as she attempts to complete 150 cosmetic makeovers in just 24 hours, aiming to secure the record for the Most Cosmetic Makeovers by an Individual.

More than a personal challenge, the effort is designed to focus the world’s attention on Nigeria’s vibrant and rapidly growing beauty industry.

“This is more than a record attempt,” said Idris Aregbe, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Tourism. “It is a statement that Nigerian creativity and excellence can compete anywhere in the world. The Tacha Beauty Festival is about empowering talent, celebrating culture, and creating a space where beauty meets opportunity.”

The festival will offer much more than the record attempt. Attendees can look forward to hands-on workshops and masterclasses covering makeup, haircare, skincare, wellness, and fashion. A dedicated Vendor Village will provide a platform for local brands to exhibit their products, network with thousands of beauty enthusiasts, and explore new avenues for growth and collaboration.

From reality TV star to influential entrepreneur and philanthropist, Tacha has continually expanded her brand with passion and purpose. Through this festival, she continues her mission to break barriers, empower creatives, and firmly position Nigeria as a leading hub of global innovation and beauty excellence.
