Spurs hierarchy eye Thomas Frank as replacement after turbulent season sees historic low in Premier League
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly on the verge of sacking manager Ange Postecoglou—just weeks after he delivered the club’s first major trophy in 17 years. The Australian guided Spurs to Europa League glory but oversaw their worst-ever Premier League campaign, finishing a dismal 17th.
Despite securing Champions League qualification through their European success, Postecoglou’s future appears uncertain, with journalist Sacha Tavolieri reporting that Spurs are already exploring replacements.
Brentford’s Thomas Frank and Fulham’s Marco Silva are said to be on the shortlist, and French outlet FootMercato claims Tottenham have already held talks with Frank about the project and potential summer transfers.
While no final decision has been made, Postecoglou’s position remains under serious threat. The 58-year-old still has strong backing from the dressing room, with football.london reporting that players “remain heavily behind him.” However, chairman Daniel Levy is weighing a major overhaul, with ex-Arsenal chief Vinai Venkatesham set to join as CEO and former director Fabio Paratici likely to return.
Postecoglou has insisted he fulfilled his objectives by ending Spurs’ trophy drought and securing top-tier European football. But with the club’s hierarchy seemingly unconvinced, his fate could be decided in the coming days—leaving fans braced for another dramatic twist in a chaotic season.
