Spurs Push for Palace Star as Arsenal Lurk and Savinho Talks Continue
Tottenham have launched a fresh offensive to sign Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze, with manager Thomas Frank personally driving efforts to bring the £68m-rated star across London before his release clause expires on August 15.
The 27-year-old England international has emerged as Spurs’ prime target to fill the creative void left by James Maddison’s long-term injury and Heung-min Son’s emotional departure to LAFC. While Palace initially hoped Eze’s £68m clause had expired, Tottenham are negotiating a potential £60m deal – though they face stiff competition from arch-rivals Arsenal, who have monitored the silky midfielder all summer.
In a double transfer push, Spurs are simultaneously negotiating with Manchester City for Brazilian winger Savinho, though the Premier League champions demand over £50m for the 20-year-old. Palace chairman Steve Parish’s admission that “people trade players” after Sunday’s Community Shield win has fueled optimism at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where former Spurs manager Alan Pardew has publicly urged Eze to choose his old club over their north London rivals.
With Eze’s 40 goals and 28 assists in 168 Palace appearances demonstrating his Premier League pedigree, this late-window move could define Spurs’ post-Son era – if they can beat the clock and their bitter neighbors to the punch.
