Juventus Exit Negotiations, Chelsea Swap Deal with Raheem Sterling Unlikely
Manchester United are facing challenges in their efforts to offload winger Jadon Sancho before the transfer window closes. Despite manager Erik ten Hag’s public claims of having reconciled with Sancho following a public fallout a year ago, the relationship between the two remains tense, according to the Transfers Podcast.
United have been exploring potential transfer options for Sancho throughout the summer, with Chelsea emerging as a potential destination in a proposed swap deal for Raheem Sterling. Juventus had also shown interest and were reportedly leading the race for the England international.
However, according to Gianluca Di Marzio, Juventus have withdrawn from negotiations due to Manchester United’s high demands. With the Chelsea swap deal appearing to be a “marriage of convenience,” United are now scrambling to find alternative options. GiveMeSport reports that the club has offered Sancho to Borussia Dortmund, where he previously enjoyed two successful spells, in a last-ditch effort to move him before the transfer deadline.
The idea of a swap deal between Sancho and Sterling has been met with skepticism, with the Transfers Podcast revealing that such a deal is still under discussion. Both Manchester United and Chelsea face challenges with a limited number of potential destinations for their respective players, and while the swap could help with Premier League Profit and Sustainability rules, the likelihood of the deal going through is considered slim.
