Transfer gossip: Chelsea eye Prem forward as Liverpool line up Lemina

Chelsea have moved on to Brennan Johnson, who is a target for two other Premier League clubs. Liverpool also have domestic competition for Mario Lemina…

CHELSEA LINKED WITH ATTACKING TRIO
After Crystal Palace forced Chelsea to back down from their pursuit of Michael Olise, the Blues have refocused on other attacking targets, with another Premier League youngster in their crosshairs.

The Guardian says talks have already taken place with Chelsea over a move for Brennan Johnson. Those discussions are at an early stage but the possibility of a player-plus-cash deal has been raised, with Forest said to value the 22-year-old at around £45million.

The Independent says Forest would accept £40million, but there is the prospect of a bidding war with Tottenham and Brentford also keen.

Chelsea have made an offer for Bradley Barcola but Lyon have turned down £29.8milion in the knowledge PSG are ready to make a move.

The Blues have also been on to Rennes about a possible swoop for Jeremy Doku. That’s the word according to 90min, while The Independent adds that West Ham, Spurs and Manchester City are also on the 21-year-old’s tail, with the Hammers more advanced in their approach. They have already submitted an offer but it is understood to be less than the £50million that Rennes are demanding.

City are said to remain confident of winning the race for Doku, which would allow West Ham to take Cole Palmer on loan from the champions, who also remain intent on signing Lucas Paqueta.

LIVERPOOL LINKED WITH LEMINA
Liverpool continue their pursuit of midfielders after their failure to land either Moises Caicedo or Romeo Lavia. We can now add Mario Lemina to the four linked with the Reds on Thursday.

Lemina was outstanding for Wolves in their defeat at Manchester United on Monday and Foot Mercato says Liverpool are one of a number of interested parties.

Indeed, the Reds are among ‘three of the big five clubs’ keen to land the Gabon star, with interest also coming from Saudi Arabia.

INTER OFFER FOR MAN UTD TARGET
Manchester United still appear unable to move for their remaining targets while they struggle to shift their deadwood. The Red Devils want Benjamin Pavard from Bayern Munich but are reliant on Harry Maguire moving to West Ham. Maguire, though, is sitting tight, as is his right.

In the meantime, Inter are looking to swoop and Fabrizio Romano says they have plonked £21.3million in Bayern’s table. But the Bavarians want more for the France star.

Bayern have been linked with a move for ex-United keeper David De Gea, but Sky Sport Germany reckons Thomas Tuchel has vetoed the idea. Instead, Bayern have reached an agreement with Maccabi Tel Aviv for 23-year-old stopper Daniel Peretz.
