Manchester United’s hopes of signing Rasmus Hojlund are under threat from PSG, who are also rivalling Liverpool for one of their primary midfield targets…
PSG RIVAL RED DEVILS FOR STRIKER
Erik ten Hag said on Friday that Manchester United will do ‘everything’ to sign a striker. Which may have to include fending off PSG if Rasmus Hojlund is the forward they want to lead their line next season.
In the absence of any intent to even ask about Harry Kane, Hojlund has been United’s primary target as they look to fill the gaping void in their attack. The main problem appeared to be around Atalanta’s demands. The Daily Mail says the Italians are unwilling to lower their asking price of £86million, which is obviously ludicrous for a striker who is yet to hit double figures in a league season.
Another concern for United is now PSG and their desire to bring Hojlund to the Parc des Princes. The Parisians have put Kylian Mbappe up for sale after leaving the France star out of their pre-season tour and want him gone as soon as possible. Then, according to L’Equipe, PSG are willing to pay £60million for Hojlund.
BAYERN KEEN ON FAB COUP
Bayern Munich aren’t quite as terrified of Daniel Levy as United seem to be, even if the Tottenham chairman is refusing to name his price for Kane.
Bayern have already failed with two offers but The Times says they will go back to Spurs with a third bid which can’t be far off £100million since their last proposal was said to be worth £80million plus add-ons.
The Bavarians are keen to close a deal with Manchester City for Kyle Walker and Sky Germany reckons they haven’t given up hope of landing Fabinho from Liverpool if his £40million move to Al-Ittihad fails to go through.
LIVERPOOL FACE FIGHT FOR PALACE POTY
Liverpool are waiting on the money from Fabinho’s exit and Jordan Henderson’s move to Saudi before recommencing their rebuild of Jurgen Klopp’s midfield.
Crystal Palace’s Cheick Doucoure is one of the players being linked with a move to Anfield – Marco Verratti and Romeo Lavia too – but the Eagles are demanding £65million for the Mali international.
Not only that, 90min says the Reds have competition for Palace’s Player of the Season, with PSG and Atletico keen on the 23-year-old.
