Transfer Gossip: Osimhen Snubs Chelsea Move Amid Transfer Talks

Newcastle and Liverpool Eye Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has reportedly expressed no interest in joining Chelsea, dealing a blow to the Premier League club’s transfer plans. Despite long-standing links with a move to Stamford Bridge, the Nigeria international is said to be unenthusiastic about teaming up with Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

According to The Mirror, Chelsea’s pursuit of Osimhen has hit a major snag as the player does not find the prospect of joining the Blues appealing. Chelsea and Napoli had been discussing a potential swap deal involving Osimhen and Romelu Lukaku, where Osimhen would join Chelsea on loan with an option to buy, and Lukaku would move permanently to Napoli to reunite with Antonio Conte. However, Corriere dello Sport reports that Osimhen is not excited about a move to Chelsea, making the deal unlikely to proceed.

Meanwhile, Newcastle United and Liverpool are both interested in securing the services of Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi. The England international, who impressed during Euro 2024, has been valued at £75 million by Crystal Palace.

According to The Sun, Liverpool’s new manager Arne Slot is keen to rival Newcastle for Guehi’s signature. The report suggests that while Newcastle have yet to make a formal offer, Liverpool are assessing the situation and trying to avoid a bidding war.

“Liverpool are ready to join the bidding battle for England star Marc Guehi,” states the outlet. “Palace will have little option but to sell if the right offer comes in.”

In other transfer news, Manchester United are reportedly asking for £18 million to sell right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka to West Ham United. The Mail claims that West Ham are stepping up their interest in Wan-Bissaka after a deal for Bayern Munich’s Noussair Mazraoui fell through. United are also reportedly interested in Bayern defenders Mazraoui and Matthijs de Ligt, as well as PSG midfielder Manuel Ugarte. However, they will need to sell players to raise funds for these potential signings.

“West Ham are ready to step up talks for Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka,” states the Mail. “United want around £18 million for Wan-Bissaka and, should they sell, would then look to hold further negotiations with Bayern Munich for right-back Noussair Mazraoui.”
