Transfer Rumours : Arsenal Explores 10-Player Shortlist in Search for Striker

Gunners Consider Varied Options as Transfer Rumors Swirl

Arsenal’s quest for a prolific striker has led to the compilation of a diverse 10-player shortlist by the club’s technical director, Edu, as reported by the Mirror.

Among the potential targets is Ivan Toney, although Arsenal is cautious of the high valuation set by Brentford, hovering around £100 million for the England international. Meanwhile, RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko and former Coventry forward Viktor Gyokeres, currently with Sporting Lisbon, have also caught the Gunners’ attention.

Joining them on Edu’s radar are Leipzig’s Lois Openda, Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, Feyenoord’s Santiago Gimenez, Ajax’s Brian Brobbey, Alexander Isak, who might become available amid Newcastle’s restructuring, Porto’s Evanilson, and Bayer Leverkusen’s Victor Boniface.

While Arsenal explores its striker options, Manchester United is reportedly mulling over its attacking lineup for the upcoming season, according to The Sun. Fabrizio Romano suggests that United might consider Toney among other potential targets, adding fuel to the speculation surrounding the Brentford forward. This development could potentially trigger a bidding war for Toney, with Chelsea also rumored to be interested.

In another twist, rumors linking United with Wolves manager Gary O’Neil have surfaced, suggesting a possible move to Old Trafford. However, conflicting reports from various sources, including the Express & Star, indicate that United is refocusing on Erik ten Hag and have dismissed any concrete interest in O’Neil.

The speculation surrounding Arsenal and Manchester United’s striker pursuits underscores the intensity of the upcoming transfer window as clubs vie for top talents to bolster their squads for the new season.
