Romano Reveals Latest Developments in Osimhen’s Potential Move
Football transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano has provided fresh updates on the transfer market, shedding light on the future of Victor Osimhen as Chelsea eyes a loan deal. The Nigerian forward, who has been on Arsenal’s radar, has now attracted interest from Chelsea following PSG’s stalled negotiations with Napoli.
Romano outlined the current status of the transfer. “Napoli and Osimhen agree to part ways this summer. The deal with PSG is on standby, not because of Osimhen, who has already agreed to move to PSG, but due to stalled negotiations between PSG and Napoli,” Romano stated.
With PSG’s deal faltering, Chelsea has entered the scene, exploring the possibility of integrating Osimhen into their ongoing negotiations with Napoli for Romelu Lukaku. “Napoli and Chelsea have discussed the possibility of including Osimhen in the Lukaku negotiations,” Romano confirmed. “Osimhen wants to leave, and Napoli wants to find a solution for him while aiming to sign Lukaku.”
The player’s agent clarified Osimhen’s stance, rejecting the idea of a loan move without a guaranteed purchase. “Osimhen is not considering a move on loan. The player and his agent are against a loan with an option to buy,” Romano explained. “Osimhen wants a permanent move and is not willing to cut his current salary of around €11m net per season at Napoli for a loan deal.”
While talks between Napoli and Chelsea continue, involving Osimhen in a permanent transfer remains in the early stages. “Napoli and Chelsea are still in touch over Lukaku. To include Osimhen, a different deal structure is needed—a permanent transfer,” Romano concluded. “It’s going to take time.”
As the transfer window progresses, the futures of Victor Osimhen and Romelu Lukaku remain key storylines to watch.
