Trump Vows to Defend Israel, Criticizes Kamala Harris Over Support Among Jewish Voters

Former President Warns Israel Could Be at Risk if Democrats Win Upcoming Election

Former President Donald Trump has vowed to be a “defender” of Jewish Americans and warned that Israel’s future could be in jeopardy if Democratic candidate Kamala Harris wins the upcoming presidential election in November. Speaking at the Israeli-American Council National Summit in Washington on Thursday, Trump expressed concerns over Harris’ significant support among Jewish-American voters.

Citing unspecified polls, Trump lamented that he is backed by only 40% of Jewish voters in the U.S., leaving the majority in favor of Harris, the current vice president. “That means you’ve got 60% voting for somebody that hates Israel,” Trump said, labeling Harris as a “bad Democrat” and claiming that the Democratic Party as a whole is “very bad” for Israel.

He further argued that any Jewish person voting for Harris or the Democratic Party “should have their head examined,” attributing their support to what he called the “Democrat hold or curse” on the community. Trump warned that if Harris becomes president, “Israel, in my opinion, within a period of two to three years, will cease to exist. It’s going to be wiped out.”

Reflecting on his past achievements in U.S.-Israeli relations, Trump recounted his decisions to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, relocate the U.S. embassy there, acknowledge Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights, and broker the Abraham Accords. He also highlighted his withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal as a pivotal move in strengthening Israel’s security.

“I was the best friend Israel ever had,” Trump asserted, adding that if reelected, he would be the “defender” and “protector” of Jewish Americans and would remain “the best friend [they] have ever had in the White House.”
