Uncertain Future for Napoli’s Victor Osimhen as Transfer Market Heats Up

Arsenal, Chelsea, and PSG All Show Interest in Nigerian Striker

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen’s future remains uncertain, with various top clubs vying for his signature. Despite heavy interest from Arsenal and Chelsea, the 25-year-old Nigerian forward’s transfer status is still up in the air. Reports suggest Osimhen feels “held hostage” by Napoli due to their high asking price.

Both Arsenal and Chelsea are eager to add a striker this transfer window, but the likeliest destination for Osimhen seemed to be the Saudi Pro League. However, Correire dello Sport recently reported that PSG has re-entered the race for the striker. Napoli demands €130 million, the full value of Osimhen’s release clause, to make a sale.

There are rumors that Napoli might lower their asking price to €100 million. Saudi clubs are willing to pay the full release fee, putting pressure on PSG to match that figure. Arsenal and Chelsea, however, are reluctant to meet such a high price, despite Osimhen’s desire to play in the Premier League.

Osimhen reportedly is not keen on moving to Saudi Arabia, even though Al-Ahli is “desperate” to sign him. PSG seems to be a more appealing option. Head coach Luis Enrique respects him, and sporting director Luis Campos, who previously signed him at Lille, adores the player. Moreover, Osimhen would likely be a guaranteed starter at PSG, ahead of Goncalo Ramos and Randal Kolo Muani.

Another factor in PSG’s favor is Osimhen’s affinity for Paris, a city he considers “almost home.” While PSG might currently be in the lead, a bid from Arsenal or Chelsea could still change the situation dramatically.
