Social media personalities VeryDarkMan and Mr Jollof escorted off aircraft and handed to security following onboard confrontation
United Nigeria Airlines took decisive action on Monday after social media personalities Martins Otse (VeryDarkMan) and Freedom Atsepoyi (Mr Jollof) turned a routine flight boarding into a public spectacle, forcing the airline to remove both men from Flight UN0523.
The incident, which unfolded at Asaba International Airport in Delta State, saw the two influencers—already known for their heated online rivalry—engage in a physical confrontation that was captured in a now-viral video. The altercation occurred inside the aircraft cabin as passengers were preparing for takeoff.
In a statement released by the airline’s Public Relations Officer, Chibuike Uloka, United Nigeria confirmed that the crew intervened “immediately and professionally” to de-escalate the situation. Both men were asked to disembark and were handed over to airport security for further investigation.
“United Nigeria Airlines maintains a zero-tolerance policy for any behaviour that may compromise safety,” the statement read. “Both individuals were removed from the aircraft without delay to safeguard the comfort and security of all passengers and crew.”
The airline emphasized that, following the removal of the two influencers and completion of standard safety protocols, the flight was able to depart as scheduled.
The confrontation marks a new low in the ongoing public feud between the two personalities, whose online disputes have now spilled into the real world—disrupting travel and drawing official consequences.
