Sao Paulo, Izquierdo’s opponents during his final match, also conveyed their condolences on X, describing it as a “sad day for football.”

Juan Izquierdo was in his second stint with Nacional, having been a key player in helping the club secure its first league title in over a century in 2023. His untimely death has left the football community in shock and mourning.
