VDM Taunts Media and Nigerians For Falling For False Claim of Missing N180M

Social Critic Verydarkman Denounces “Stupidity” and Calls Out Prominent Figures

Vincent Martins Otse, widely known as Verydarkman (VDM), has stirred controversy by admitting that his recent claim of N180 million being hacked from his NGO account was fabricated. The social critic said the false claim was a deliberate test to highlight the gullibility of some Nigerians and the media.

According to VDM, 80% of Nigerians on social media are “stupid,” and their reaction to his fabricated story served as proof. He also lambasted those who insulted him and his mother, who was accused by critics of being complicit in the alleged fraud. In a mocking tone, VDM pretended to cry, stating that those who targeted him would eventually learn their lesson.

Media and Individuals Criticized

VDM took aim at media practitioners, accusing them of failing to verify information before sharing it. He clarified that his money remains secure at Zenith Bank, which he praised for its reliability.

Among those he criticized were human rights activist Omotayo Williams and investigative journalist David Hundeyin. Omotayo had claimed that “Officer Sam,” involved in the case, was a cab driver in Jos. VDM dismissed this by stating he never referred to Sam as a police officer, merely as an “officer.”

David Hundeyin also faced backlash from VDM for urging Nigerians to focus on claims by Niger Republic’s military leader about France establishing a military base in Nigeria. VDM argued that Hundeyin lacked evidence and described this as another example of widespread naivety among Nigerians.

Police and Other Accusations

VDM clarified that if his money had indeed gone missing, he would have reported the case to the Abuja Police Command. He criticized both the Abuja and Plateau police for debunking his claims without a formal complaint from him, suggesting they should investigate every rumor if they’ve set a precedent with his case.

The social critic also dismissed claims by singer Dammy Krane that he was renovating a school in Jos, calling the assertions baseless. Additionally, he accused dancer Lil Smart of lying about their interactions, claiming he had tried to help Lil Smart seek justice against singers Naira Marley and Zinoleesky but was let down by insufficient evidence.
