Online Personality Plans Trip to Ghana Amid Global Cybersecurity Concerns
Online personality and activist, VeryDarkMan, has revealed a significant breakthrough in recovering funds stolen from his NGO’s website after it was hacked. According to his statement in a video trending on X (formerly Twitter), ₦78 million of the stolen ₦180 million has been recovered, while an accomplice holding the remaining funds has reportedly fled to Ghana.
In the video, VeryDarkMan shared updates on the investigation and expressed gratitude to supporters. “First of all, I really want to say thank you to all the people who have reached out to me since this incident happened. Even people I didn’t expect have called to check on me, and I’m really grateful,” he said.
He confirmed that an arrested suspect admitted their accomplice had escaped to Ghana. In response, VeryDarkMan announced plans to travel to Ghana soon to pursue the matter further.
The NGO’s website was reportedly hacked days earlier, sparking public backlash and widespread concern after the theft of ₦180 million was disclosed. Website analysis has since revealed that the breach was part of a larger cybersecurity attack originating from various countries.
VeryDarkMan detailed the findings in his video, listing the top threat regions:
- USA: 614 threats
- Nigeria: 58 threats
- Moldova: 4 threats
- Singapore: 3 threats
- Israel: 3 threats
