Victor Osimhen Faces Intense Transfer Battle in Final Week of the Transfer Window as Chelsea, Arsenal, and PSG Circle

Napoli Striker’s Future Uncertain Amid High-Stakes Negotiations

Victor Osimhen is poised to be at the center of a transfer frenzy in the final week of the window, with Chelsea, Arsenal, and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) all vying for his signature. The Napoli striker, currently valued at €130 million, is facing a critical juncture in his career, with a stay in Serie A appearing increasingly unlikely.

Napoli, determined to secure a hefty fee, have made it clear they will only part with Osimhen if his release clause is met. However, the club is also grappling with the financial strain of his current contract, worth around €11 million per year. In a bid to alleviate this burden and fend off interest from top European clubs, Napoli proposed spreading out Osimhen’s wages over a longer period—a move reminiscent of Barcelona’s arrangement with Frenkie de Jong.

Osimhen, however, has rejected this proposal outright. According to reports from Il Mattino, the striker and his agent, Roberto Calenda, have firmly dismissed Napoli’s offer. Despite agreeing to a lucrative contract with PSG worth approximately €12 million per year, the French giants have cooled their interest, turning their attention to Ademola Lookman instead.

Chelsea and Arsenal remain interested, with the Blues reportedly considering a loan deal—an option Osimhen is not keen on. Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano has downplayed Arsenal’s pursuit of the forward, despite Mikel Arteta hinting at a potential late “surprise” in the transfer market.

Napoli, preparing for Osimhen’s possible departure, have already lined up Romelu Lukaku as a replacement. On Friday night, Romano confirmed that a verbal agreement had been reached between Chelsea and Napoli for Lukaku’s transfer. The deal, worth a potential €45 million, will see the Belgian striker sign a three-year contract with Napoli, running until 2027.
