United’s 2-0 defeat to Newcastle on Monday has added to their woes, leaving them in 13th place, with fans demanding reinforcements to address their goal-scoring struggles. The Red Devils have scored fewer goals than all but three teams in the league this season.
Osimhen’s Interest Sparks Hope
Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray, has been in prolific form with 13 goals and three assists in 16 matches this season. Reports suggest the Nigerian forward is eager to join United, with preliminary negotiations reportedly underway. Napoli has inserted a €90 million release clause in his contract, though rumors indicate the clause could drop to €75 million to facilitate the transfer.
This potential move comes after United abandoned their pursuit of Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyökeres, with new manager Ruben Amorim assuring Sporting he would not pursue the player mid-season.

Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha has publicly urged the club to sign Osimhen, describing him as the type of proven goal-scorer the team desperately needs.
“It would be a difficult signing to make, but he’s exactly the player Manchester United need,” Saha said. “He would instantly improve the team. If you sign Osimhen, you’re not signing potential—you’re signing a goal-scorer with pedigree.”
Saha also lamented United’s failure to secure a marquee striker in recent years, noting that breaking the bank for players like Harry Kane or Osimhen is essential to returning to title contention.
