Victor Osimhen Restricts Summer Transfer Options to Two Clubs, Claims Former Napoli Midfielder

Former Napoli midfielder Salvatore Bagni has revealed that Victor Osimhen, the highly sought-after Nigerian striker, is open to joining only two clubs this summer amid widespread interest from top European teams. Manchester United and Real Madrid are the only destinations that would meet Osimhen’s criteria, according to Bagni, as the 24-year-old looks to take the next step in his career.

Osimhen’s impressive performances have attracted attention from several prominent clubs, including Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain. After a stellar campaign where he scored 31 goals in 39 games across all competitions, playing a pivotal role in Napoli’s Serie A triumph after 33 years, Osimhen has emerged as one of Europe’s most lethal finishers.

While speculation swirls around Osimhen’s potential departure from Napoli this summer, Bagni clarified that the Nigerian striker has ruled out a return to France or Germany due to his previous experiences in those leagues. Furthermore, Osimhen is reportedly not considering Liverpool or Chelsea as options since they are not participating in the UEFA Champions League.

According to Bagni, Manchester United and Real Madrid are the preferred destinations for Osimhen, as he believes those clubs align with the player’s aspirations and ambitions.

Manchester United has prioritized signing a new No.9 this summer and is expected to pursue Osimhen after securing a deal for Mason Mount. Last season, the Red Devils heavily relied on Marcus Rashford following Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure, while loan signing Wout Weghorst struggled to make a significant impact with only two goals to his name.

Napoli, however, remains determined to retain their prized asset. Club president Aurelio de Laurentiis has expressed his desire to extend Osimhen’s contract for an additional two years, signaling the club’s commitment to keeping him. Nonetheless, Laurentiis acknowledged that if an irresistible offer were to arrive, the club would evaluate it in the best interests of Napoli.
