Victor Osimhen Set for Premier League Move as Top Clubs Circle Nigerian Star

Napoli striker, currently on loan at Galatasaray, confirmed to join England’s top flight next season amid interest from Chelsea, Manchester United, and others.

Victor Osimhen, the prolific Nigerian striker currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, is poised to make a high-profile move to the Premier League next season, according to Nigeria captain William Troost-Ekong. The 26-year-old forward has been a standout performer in the Turkish Super Lig this season, netting 20 goals in just 22 appearances, and his exploits have not gone unnoticed by England’s elite clubs.

Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United were all linked with Osimhen last summer, and while the Blues and the Gunners have reportedly cooled their interest for now, the race for his signature could reignite quickly. Manchester United, in particular, have been recently rumored to be preparing another attempt to secure the striker’s services. Additionally, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, both likely to be in the market for a proven No. 9, could also enter the fray.

Troost-Ekong, Osimhen’s international teammate, confirmed the striker’s impending move to England during an interview with TalkSport. “I know he’s a Chelsea fan, but I also know he’s had talks with all the top teams. It’s up to him what he chooses. He will fit into every team,” Troost-Ekong revealed. He also hinted at Liverpool’s potential interest, stating, “I know Liverpool have spoken about getting a new striker next season. We will see.”

Osimhen’s release clause, previously set at €120 million, has reportedly dropped to around €80 million this summer, making him an attractive option for clubs seeking a proven goal scorer. Troost-Ekong believes Osimhen’s skill set makes him a perfect fit for the Premier League. “Finishing is the part he’s working on the most. His qualities are his tenacity, he’s relentless, he’ll chase down every ball. In the air, he’s amazing. You can play the ball up to him, and he’ll hold it up,” he said.

“If he’s one-on-one in the box, or you cross it in, he’s going to score. He’s direct, so I think that’s why he would suit the Premier League.”

Osimhen’s loan spell at Galatasaray has been a resounding success, revitalizing his career after a challenging stint at Napoli. However, Troost-Ekong made it clear that the striker’s future lies elsewhere. “I couldn’t see him playing there for another season, or anywhere else but the Premier League next season,” he said.

As the summer transfer window approaches, all eyes will be on Osimhen, whose combination of physicality, aerial prowess, and clinical finishing has made him one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe. With multiple Premier League giants vying for his signature, the Nigerian star’s next move could be one of the biggest stories of the upcoming transfer season.
