Napoli Striker Set for Loan move with €75 Million Release Clause and January Break Option
Victor Osimhen’s transfer to Galatasaray has been finalized, with all documents approved, marking the start of a significant loan move. The Nigerian striker will join the Turkish giants on a loan deal until June 2025, with Galatasaray covering his €9-10 million annual salary.
The agreement includes a revised release clause of €75 million, significantly lower than the original €130 million stipulated in Osimhen’s contract with Napoli. This adjustment was a crucial point of negotiation, as Napoli sought to extend Osimhen’s contract until 2027 to maintain leverage in future transfer dealings.
In addition to the release clause, Osimhen has secured a break clause that allows him to leave Galatasaray in January 2025 for one of 10 specified big clubs, with Galatasaray receiving a small fee if the clause is activated.
Napoli retains the right to automatically extend Osimhen’s contract until June 2027 if he is not sold by June 2025. Should this extension be activated, the release clause would be adjusted to €80 million, closely aligning with the fee Napoli paid to sign Osimhen from Lille in 2020.
This deal ensures that while Osimhen has a clear path to explore future opportunities, Napoli still retains strategic control over his potential sale.
