Video Surfaces Alleging Arrest of Nigerian Star 2Baba in the UK

Blogger releases footage claiming to show singer’s altercation with wife and police intervention—months after the musician denied the incident.

Nigerian music icon 2Baba, born Innocent Idibia, is again facing public scrutiny after a blogger released videos that purport to show him being arrested in the United Kingdom following a heated dispute with his wife.

The footage, shared on Instagram Monday by social media commentator Tosin Silverdam, claims to capture 2Baba’s detention by police and an earlier argument with his wife, Edo lawmaker Natasha Osawaru, at Gatwick Airport. Silverdam alleged the clash stemmed from jealousy, stating Natasha was upset over attention the singer received during his UK tour.

This isn’t the first time such claims have surfaced. In October 2025, Silverdam first accused 2Baba of a confrontation so intense it led to police involvement, causing the singer to miss a scheduled performance. At the time, 2Baba firmly denied the story, explaining his absence was due to a medical emergency. He even appeared in a cheerful video alongside Natasha, laughing off what he called baseless rumors.

But Silverdam persisted, later releasing text conversations he said were with event organizers to back his version of events. Now, with the newly shared videos, the blogger insists the public is finally seeing the truth.

Online reactions have been swift and divided, with fans expressing concern and skepticism. Many are calling for clarity from 2Baba’s team, while others question the timing and authenticity of the footage.

As of now, neither 2Baba nor Natasha Osawaru has publicly addressed the latest videos. The development renews attention on the personal life of one of Africa’s most beloved artists—and on the often-blurred line between private conflict and public speculation.
