VIP Treatment Behind Bars? – Explosive Claims Reveal Bobrisky’s Alleged Special Prison Arrangement

Community Leader Accuses Officials of Bribery as EFCC Probes ₦35 Million Prison Privileges Scandal

A shocking new twist has emerged in the case of controversial Nigerian crossdresser Bobrisky, with explosive allegations that he may have bribed prison officials for preferential treatment during his six-month sentence at Kirikiri Correctional Facility in Lagos.

Chief Babalola Shabi, the no-nonsense Baale (community leader) of Kirikiri Town, has blown the whistle on what he describes as a “criminal collaboration” between prison staff and the influencer, claiming Bobrisky paid millions to avoid real incarceration.

The ₦35 Million “Prison Upgrade” Scandal

At a Lagos State Police Week town hall meeting, Shabi revealed that investigations uncovered Bobrisky allegedly smuggled eight ATM cards into prison and transferred approximately ₦35 million to officials. In exchange, he reportedly enjoyed a private living space outside the main prison quarters.

“Before the truth came out, everyone believed he was in Kirikiri serving his time,” Shabi stated. “But the reality is Bobrisky was living comfortably outside prison walls thanks to these illegal arrangements.”

The community leader said he became suspicious after noticing unusual financial activity, prompting him to summon local POS operators to his palace. His findings triggered an EFCC probe that allegedly confirmed the suspicious transactions.

Contradictions and a Mysterious Voice Note

These claims directly contradict a National Assembly panel’s earlier conclusion that while Bobrisky received favorable treatment, he remained within prison premises.

Adding fuel to the fire, social media activist VeryDarkMan recently circulated an alleged voice note from Bobrisky where the crossdresser purportedly admits:

  • Paying ₦15 million to EFCC officials to drop money laundering charges
  • Receiving help from a powerful “godfather”
  • Being housed in a private location through prison insider connections

Systemic Corruption Concerns

The scandal has reignited concerns about Nigeria’s correctional system, with Shabi confirming both EFCC and DSS have questioned him. He noted the building where Bobrisky allegedly stayed has since been demolished.

Bobrisky, sentenced in April 2024 for naira mutilation and released in August, has yet to publicly address these latest allegations. As investigations continue, many Nigerians are demanding answers about how deep this alleged corruption runs in the nation’s justice system.

“If true, this shows our institutions can be bought by the highest bidder,” lamented one social media user. “What hope do ordinary Nigerians have when money can buy your way out of prison?”

With multiple agencies now involved, this developing story threatens to expose more uncomfortable truths about privilege, power and the price of justice in Nigeria.
