Berrada Vows Title Challenge Within 3 Years as Red Devils Plot Major Rebuild
Manchester United CEO Omar Berrada has made a bold declaration that the fallen giants can lift the Premier League trophy by 2028, throwing his full support behind under-fire manager Ruben Amorim despite last season’s disastrous 15th-place finish – their worst in Premier League history.
The Red Devils’ catastrophic campaign saw them lose 18 league games and suffer Europa League final heartbreak against Tottenham, extending their Champions League exile. Yet Berrada remains defiant, telling fans: “Why not aim for the title? I firmly believe we can do it.”
A Long Road Back to Glory
Speaking about the club’s ambitious revival plans, Berrada admitted: “We’ve just finished 15th – it seems impossible. But we have two or three summer windows to build a title-winning team.” His comments come as United prepare for a crucial transfer period, having already splashed £62.5m on Wolves’ Matheus Cunha while chasing Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo and Sporting’s Viktor Gyökeres.
The CEO defended keeping faith with Amorim after his nightmare debut season: “These painful months will help us. Had Ruben started this summer, he wouldn’t have learned the Premier League’s brutal lessons.”
Fergie’s Shadow Looms Large
United haven’t won the league since Sir Alex Ferguson’s 2013 retirement, coming closest with second-place finishes under Mourinho (2018) and Solskjaer (2021). Now Berrada is betting on Amorim to end the drought, outlining a “clear roadmap” to transform the struggling squad within three years.
With the Glazers’ regime under renewed scrutiny, Berrada’s ambitious timeline sets high stakes for United’s summer business. Can the 20-time champions turn bold words into results, or will their title dreams remain just that? One thing’s certain – after hitting rock bottom, the only way is up.
