Lead Single from “Real (Vol.1)” Celebrates Friendship and Lagos Vibe, Following Historic Symphonic Collaboration
Nigerian music giants Wizkid and Asake have set the music world abuzz with the surprise release of their new track, “Jogodo,” officially announcing their first-ever collaborative EP, “Real (Vol.1).”
The song serves as the vibrant lead single for the project, which the duo first teased during an Apple Music Radio session last December. They described the upcoming EP as a labor of genuine friendship, a body of work born from a bond that goes deeper than the industry. “Jogodo” itself captures this ethos, embodying a mood of effortless, carefree enjoyment, with its title playfully nodding to that lightheaded, joyful feeling of a perfect night out in Lagos.

This collaboration comes as no surprise to fans who witnessed their electric chemistry live. The pair shared a standout moment last November during Asake’s groundbreaking Red Bull Symphonic performance in Brooklyn, where Wizkid joined him on stage to perform their track “MMS” alongside a 33-piece orchestra—a mesmerizing preview of their synergistic styles.
With “Jogodo” now setting the tone, anticipation is building for the full release of “Real (Vol. 1),” scheduled to arrive on January 23, 2026. The EP promises to be a milestone, merging the distinct sounds of two of Afrobeats’ biggest stars into a project rooted in authentic connection.
