Wizkid Reveals Tracklist for Upcoming Album ‘Morayo’

Grammy winner dedicates 16-track album to his late mother, release set for November 22

Nigerian music superstar Wizkid, born Ibrahim Balogun, has unveiled the tracklist for his highly anticipated album, Morayo, set to drop on November 22. The album is a heartfelt tribute to his mother, Jane Dolapo Balogun, who passed away in August 2023.

Star-Studded Collaborations and Emotional Themes

The 16-track album features an impressive lineup of artists, including Asake, Brent Faiyaz, Jazmine Sullivan, Anaïs, and Tiakola. Wizkid’s ability to blend Afrobeat with international sounds is evident in tracks such as Troubled Mind, Karamo, Kese (Dance), Bad Girl, Time, and Piece of My Heart.

Other tracks include Break Me Down, Bend, A Million Blessings, Après Minuit, Bad for You, Soji, Don’t Care, Slow, Lose, and Pray. Wizkid has already teased the album’s vibe with the release of Kese (Dance) and Piece of My Heart, the latter featuring American R&B artist Brent Faiyaz.

A Tribute to a Beloved Mother

Wizkid described the album as a deeply personal project, dedicated to honoring his late mother’s memory. On social media, he confirmed the release date, writing:
“Morayo. Pre-save album! Nov 22.”

This marks Wizkid’s first full-length project since his Soundman Vol. 2 EP in December 2022, which included collaborations with Wande Coal and Zlatan Ibile.

A Legacy of Hits

With a career spanning over a decade, Wizkid has released iconic albums like Ayo (2014), Sounds from the Other Side (2017), Made in Lagos (2020), and More Love, Less Ego (2022). His album Made in Lagos was recently crowned the most streamed Nigerian album on Apple Music.

A winner of numerous awards, including a Grammy in 2021 for his collaboration with Beyoncé on Brown Skin Girl, Wizkid has firmly established himself as a global music sensation.
