Wolves Fight Back to Snatch a Point, End 12-Game Losing Streak

Krejci’s Header Earns Deserved Draw Against Manchester United, Offering Hope in Relegation Battle

Wolverhampton Wanderers halted a demoralizing 12-match losing streak across all competitions on Tuesday, showing resilience to come from behind and secure a 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Molineux.

The precious point, only their third of the Premier League season, was earned through sheer persistence and a moment of redemption for defender Ladislav Krejci, who powered home a brilliant header on the stroke of halftime to cancel out Joshua Zirkzee’s deflected opener for the visitors.

“It’s a feeling of relief and pride,” said Wolves captain Max Kilman after the final whistle. “The character the lads showed tonight, after everything, is what we need to build on.”

The match followed a familiar, frustrating pattern for much of the first half for Wolves. Despite positive early moments, they fell behind against the run of play just before the half-hour mark. Zirkzee’s shot took a heavy deflection, leaving goalkeeper Jose Sa stranded.

Wolves, however, refused to fold. They continued to create chances, with Benjamin Sesko hitting the post, before Krejci leapt highest to meet a loose ball in the box and thump his header past United’s Senne Lammens, sending the home crowd into raptures.

The second half was a frantic, end-to-end affair. Both goalkeepers were called into action, with Sa producing a miraculous one-handed save to claw away Yerson Mosquera’s header and Lammens denying Krejci a second goal late on. United thought they had stolen all three points when Patrick Dorgu tapped in a rebound, but the offside flag cut short their celebrations.

For Manchester United, who have not won back-to-back league games since October, the result feels like a significant missed opportunity. “We controlled large parts but didn’t kill the game,” admitted manager Ruben Amorim. “We have to be more ruthless.”

For Wolves, the draw is a vital lifeline. While they remain deep in relegation trouble, the spirit and fight shown against a top-half side provides a crucial foundation of hope as they battle for survival.
