In a surprising twist, Alexis Sanchez, the renowned Chilean footballer, has reportedly explored the possibility of rejoining Arsenal during the upcoming summer transfer window. According to sources in Chile, the 34-year-old forward’s representatives have already initiated contact with the Gunners to discuss a potential return.
Sanchez’s contract with Marseille is set to expire at the end of this month, but the French club is eager to secure an extension for another season. Having played a vital role for Marseille in the previous campaign, the Chile international’s outstanding performances contributed to the team’s third-place finish in Ligue 1, with an impressive tally of 17 goals across various competitions.
Reports from Chilean newspaper La Tercera indicate that Sanchez remains highly motivated to participate in UEFA Champions League football once again, turning down an offer from the Saudi Pro League. Allegedly, his agent has directly contacted Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta to explore the potential for a reunion at the North London club this summer.
It is understood that Arteta has been made aware of Sanchez’s strong desire to facilitate a return to his former club, and the Chilean forward retains hope that an agreement can be reached. However, the report suggests that Arteta was forthright in his response to Sanchez’s representatives, emphasizing that the player does not align with his plans for the team moving forward.

“We want to keep him because he has brought us a lot,” Longoria expressed. “He was a leader in every way. We are currently in discussions with his agent, and we are offering him a more lucrative contract than the one he had this season.”
