As the January transfer window unfolds, Arsenal is poised to shake up Chelsea’s plans by pursuing a move for striker Victor Boniface, identified as the perfect alternative to Victor Osimhen for the Blues.

Both London giants have set their sights on reinforcing their attacking options, with Arsenal and Chelsea scouting similar players. While both clubs have explored the possibility of signing Ivan Toney from Brentford, Arsenal has reportedly balked at the £100 million asking price for the England forward.

Amid Chelsea’s interest in Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, who is on the verge of signing a new deal with the Serie A side, Arsenal is actively seeking an alternative. While still coveting Santos forward Marcos Leonardo, the Gunners are turning their attention to Bayer Leverkusen striker Boniface, as reported by CBS Sports.

The 23-year-old striker, boasting an Expected Transfer Value (ETV) of €30 million, has been in exceptional form for Xabi Alonso’s side this season, registering 16 goals and eight assists across all competitions. SciSports, a data analytics firm, suggests that Boniface might be better off awaiting Chelsea’s move, as they believe the Blues are the ideal destination for the prolific striker, giving them a high Club Fit score of 89 using SciSports’ Career Advice tool.

While Arsenal ranks as Boniface’s 13th-best option, they still present a strong case for the Nigeria international forward, earning a Club Fit score of 80. SciSports envisions Boniface potentially developing into a key player at the Emirates in the long term. However, the analysis suggests that Chelsea offers a more favorable playing time scenario for the striker, making them a stronger option.

Real Madrid has also entered the fray with a Club Fit score of 87, closely monitoring the possibility of signing a striker. Boniface appears to tick many boxes for Los Blancos, adding another layer of intrigue to the dynamic transfer landscape this January.
