Barcelona Ready for Battle with PSG Over Ousmane Dembele’s Potential Transfer

BARCELONA – Tensions are rising as Barcelona prepares to enter into a “war” with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in a bid to retain Ousmane Dembele, according to reports from Spain.

Dembele, who played a crucial role in Barcelona’s recent 3-0 victory against Real Madrid in El Clasico, is reportedly considering a move back to his homeland, where he could potentially replace Kylian Mbappe at Parc des Princes. PSG has expressed interest in signing the French international winger and is willing to meet his release fee, which currently stands at €50 million until August 1, after which it would double to €100 million.

Despite Barcelona’s firm stance on keeping the 26-year-old player, the decision now rests with PSG, as they are prepared to activate Dembele’s release clause. In response to this situation, Barcelona is reportedly ready to take drastic measures and go to war with PSG to secure Dembele’s stay at Camp Nou.

According to reports from Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona is prepared to challenge PSG’s financial compliance with UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations. They plan to request UEFA to investigate the French club’s financial resources to determine whether they are abiding by the financial rules.

The transfer saga has been further complicated by the involvement of Dembele’s agent, Moussa Sissoko, who has put forward a counteroffer to Barcelona, suggesting a significant increase in the player’s wages by €6-7 million per year. However, Barcelona has deemed this proposal unfeasible, given the current financial climate.

Barcelona legend and current manager, Xavi, has met with Dembele in an attempt to convince him to stay with the club, but the situation remains uncertain. Football transfer news expert, Fabrizio Romano, has suggested that PSG is growing anxious about completing the deal before the August 31 deadline, as it would result in the player’s release fee doubling.
