Beauty Tukura Reveals She Nearly Took Her Own Life After BBNaija Disqualification

The former Miss Nigeria describes the public “crucifixion” and overwhelming shame that led to her deepest despair, and how a focus on global fan love saved her.

In a raw and emotional podcast appearance, former Miss Nigeria and BBNaija star Beauty Tukura has revealed the severe mental health crisis she endured following her disqualification from the reality show, confessing she almost committed suicide in the aftermath.

Opening up on the ‘BeyondWithEzinne’ podcast, Tukura described the intense public scrutiny she faced as feeling like a “crucifixion.” “The heat was too much,” she stated. “Personally, I felt like nothing I said was going to make sense because all they wanted to do was crucify me like Jesus. It was very hard.”

The shame was so profound that she struggled to face her own parents. “I was too ashamed to see them. I didn’t know how to face them. I was in a very bad place,” Tukura admitted. Her parents, knowing their daughter’s emotional nature, persistently sent her messages of love and support during this period.

The former beauty queen was startlingly candid about the depth of her despair, revealing the ordeal brought her to the brink of ending her life. “I cried every day. I was thinking of ending it. I almost actually committed suicide,” she confessed.

She credited the support from her fans around the world for helping her through the darkest moments, explaining that she made a conscious decision to focus on the positive. “I decided to focus on the love. Since then, I’ve always focused on the positive messages,” she shared.

Now reflecting on the experience, Tukura acknowledges her mistakes and the painful lessons learned. “That was the lowest point of my life, and I’ve decided it will stay that way,” she said. “There’s no room for such mistakes anymore.”
