Streaming giant celebrates Nigeria’s Independence with top 10 artist and song rankings
Grammy-winning artist Damini Ogulu, known as Burna Boy, has been named the biggest Nigerian artist of all time by Apple Music. The announcement came as the platform celebrated Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day by revealing its top 10 most streamed Nigerian artists and songs in history.
Burna Boy topped the chart, with Wizkid, Davido, Rema, and Asake following closely behind. Completing the list were Tems, Omah Lay, Fireboy DML, BNXN, and Olamide.
In addition to artist rankings, Apple Music also highlighted the most streamed Nigerian songs. Rema’s global hit remix of Calm Down featuring Selena Gomez secured the number one spot. Burna Boy’s Last Last and Wizkid’s Essence, featuring Tems, followed in second and third place.
Other notable tracks included Tems’ Free Mind, Burna Boy’s Ye, and Location by Dave and Burna Boy, among others, showcasing the global reach of Nigerian music.
