Chelsea Pursue Jadon Sancho with Potential Swap Deal Involving Four Players

Manchester United Offered Pick of Four Chelsea Stars as Blues Intensify Efforts to Sign Sancho

Chelsea are ramping up their efforts to bring Jadon Sancho to Stamford Bridge before the transfer window closes, with reports suggesting that the club is prepared to offer Manchester United a choice of four players as part of a lucrative swap deal.

Sancho, who has struggled to find consistent form at Manchester United since his £73 million move from Borussia Dortmund in 2021, is once again at the center of transfer speculation. Despite resolving a high-profile fallout with United manager Erik ten Hag, the 24-year-old winger’s future at Old Trafford remains uncertain, especially after being left out of the matchday squad for United’s Premier League opener against Fulham.

Ten Hag recently commented on Sancho’s situation, expressing optimism about the player’s return to form and describing him as “a terribly good player.” However, the manager also cited squad rotation and a minor ear infection as reasons for Sancho’s omission from the squad against Fulham, leaving the door open for a potential departure.

With interest in Sancho reportedly high, Chelsea have emerged as strong contenders for his signature. Despite already having a plethora of attacking options, new Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca is said to be an admirer of Sancho and is keen to add him to his squad.

According to a report from the Daily Express, Chelsea are considering a swap deal to secure Sancho, offering Manchester United their pick of four players. The quartet includes Trevoh Chalobah, Conor Gallagher, Ben Chilwell, and Noni Madueke—players who either do not feature prominently in Maresca’s plans or are deemed surplus to requirements.

Chalobah and Gallagher, both products of Chelsea’s academy, have been informed that they are free to leave this summer. While Chalobah has been linked with Fulham and Newcastle, no club has yet met Chelsea’s £30 million asking price. Gallagher, meanwhile, has returned to training at Cobham after a potential move to Atletico Madrid fell through.

Chelsea have also offered United the opportunity to sign left-back Ben Chilwell, who is reportedly not fully suited to Maresca’s tactical approach, and winger Noni Madueke. United may be particularly interested in Chilwell, given their ongoing issues at left-back, with both Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia sidelined.

As the transfer window enters its final fortnight, it remains to be seen whether Manchester United will accept Chelsea’s offer and whether Sancho will make the move to Stamford Bridge.
