Nigerian singer Davido has made a significant public announcement his Instagram page, revealing that his foundation, the David Adeleke Foundation (DAF), has donated a whopping sum of N237 million to 424 orphanage homes in Nigeria. This generous donation is set to benefit a total of 13,818 children in need.
Established in 2022, the David Adeleke Foundation aims to assist the less privileged and uplift vulnerable communities across Nigeria. Through ongoing charitable works, the foundation has successfully raised and disbursed funds to improve the lives of many children.
Davido expressed his pride in the foundation’s latest accomplishment, stating, “I am proud to announce that my foundation, The David Adeleke Foundation (DAF), has donated the sum of N237,000,000.00 (Two Hundred and Thirty-Seven Million Naira) to orphanages throughout Nigeria.”
The distribution of the donation funds was carried out by the chair of the DAF Disbursement Committee, Mrs. Titi Adebayo, and they successfully reached 424 orphanages across the country, providing much-needed support to 13,818 children.
He continued, “I founded the DAF in 2022 with a strong desire and passion to continually assist others and create a proper framework for ongoing charitable works to benefit the good people of Nigeria.”
The singer expressed gratitude for the impact of his previous donations, particularly in 2021 after his birthday, which inspired him to establish the DAF. Seeing the positive effects of his contributions and the heartfelt messages from recipients reaffirmed his commitment to assisting the less privileged.
The DAF began reaching out to compassionate Nigerians in October 2022, seeking their support in raising funds for those in need across the country. Thanks to the generous contributions from individuals and corporations across various sectors and regions, the foundation was able to raise the substantial donation sum of N237 million.
Davido personally thanked all individuals and corporations that assisted in raising the donation sum, acknowledging that their unwavering support and kindness made this significant contribution possible.
