Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) to Make a Thrilling Return to the Fast and Furious Franchise

Dwayne Johnson has formally announced that he will rejoin the “Fast & Furious” series. He announced the information on his social media accounts, fully confirming that his character Luke Hobbs would return to action.

Johnson thanked the crowd for their encouragement and enthusiasm for his unexpected cameo in “Fast X,” which hit theaters in May.

The Rock, who plays the role of the actor, hinted that Hobbs and Dante, played by Jason Momoa, will have more to say to one another.

He compared it to his time as a professional wrestler and brought up “The Rock” and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin’s big confrontations at WrestleMania. Johnson predicts that Dante and Hobbs’ collision will be much more exciting.

Johnson didn’t give any specific information regarding the upcoming “Fast” movie, but according to The Wrap, a Hobbs film is currently being worked on at Universal Pictures.

The 2019 spinoff “Hobbs & Shaw,” starring Johnson and Jason Statham as Deckard Shaw, will not be a sequel to this movie; rather, it will act as a transitional piece between “Fast X” and “Fast X: Part II.”

Dwayne Johnson played Hobbs for the first time in the 2011 movie “Fast Five” and returned for five more installments in the series.

After his participation in “Hobbs & Shaw,” he declared in a 2021 interview with CNN that he would not be returning to the franchise. Johnson has now opted to return, despite Vin Diesel, a stalwart actor from the “Fast & Furious” franchise, publicly pleading with him not to.

Regarding his friendship with Diesel, Johnson talked about their previous disagreements and stressed how they have been close to one another for a long time.

He said that they are concentrating on finding solutions to their problems and planning greater projects and build-outs in the future. Johnson claimed that after taking all of these things into account, deciding “yes” to going back was not a tough choice for him.
