The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reportedly apprehended Nigerian socialite and crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky, in Lagos State.

According to recent reports, Bobrisky was taken into custody at Pinnock Estate, Lagos, on Wednesday, April 3, 2024.

The arrest is purportedly linked to accusations of Bobrisky’s involvement in the alleged abuse of the Nigerian currency during a movie premiere event. Filmmaker Seun Oloketuyi shared the news on social media, stating that Bobrisky was arrested by the EFCC on Wednesday afternoon and spent the night in their custody. Oloketuyi’s post stated:

“According to reports, Bobrisky was arrested by @officialefcc Wednesday afternoon and he spent the night in their Cell.”
