Erik ten Hag Denies Job Uncertainty, Calls Media Rumors “Lies” and “Fairytales”

Manchester United boss vows to lead club back to success despite poor start to the season.

Erik ten Hag has forcefully dismissed rumors about his position as Manchester United manager being in jeopardy, labeling media reports as “fairytales” and “lies.” Despite the club’s worst start to a Premier League season, with no wins in their last five matches and sitting 14th in the table, Ten Hag remains confident in his ability to guide the team back to the top.

Speaking in a press conference ahead of United’s match against Brentford, the Dutchman asserted that there is no internal turmoil and that the club is united behind him.

“The only noise is coming from some of you guys in the media, bringing up stories, creating fairytales, bringing lies because we are all on one page at this club,” Ten Hag said. “Internally, it is quiet. We are discussing our situation, we are unhappy with our current position, but we are composed, sticking to the plan, and very convinced we will succeed.”

Ten Hag compared the current situation to “climbing a mountain,” acknowledging that the road to success comes with challenges but expressing confidence that his team will turn things around as they did in previous seasons.

He also provided injury updates, confirming that both midfielder Kobbie Mainoo and defender Harry Maguire will miss five games due to muscle injuries. Meanwhile, summer signing Noussair Mazraoui, who recently underwent a minor heart procedure, has made a swift recovery and is back in training.
