Transfer Gossip: Man Utd ‘here we go’ provides Amrabat funds as Ten Hag surprisingly turns to Chelsea flop

Manchester United may finally have the funds to sign Erik ten Hag’s top midfield target as well as the shock loan signing of a Premier League defender…

HENDO TO FUND AMRABAT?
Manchester United clearly need another midfielder and Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat is reportedly the man Erik ten Hag wants to bring in. The Moroccan has not kicked a ball this season as the Italian club look to sort out his future.

One big stumbling block for United has been their transfer budget, which everyone thought was £100million going in to the summer transfer window. They have spent around £160m and need to sell one or two players to fund a move for Amrabat.

It looks like the Red Devils are on the brink of raising the relevant funds with Dean Henderson closing in on a permanent switch to Crystal Palace for around £20m. Poor Sam Johnstone.

This is according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, who has said “here we go”. The Italian stallion adds that Turkish goalkeeper Altay Bayindir will come in to collect bum splinters in place of Henderson.

Will we finally see Amrabat move to the Premier League?

UNITED GO CUCU
Sticking with a Manchester United transfer story from Fabrizio Romano, we have an amusing update on Ten Hag’s search for a new left-back.

Marc Cucurella. You know the one? Did really well for Brighton, so naturally, he joined Chelsea for big money. Unfortunately for him and the Blues, he has been a bit pants and is now a benchwarmer and is likely to remain one even with injury-prone Ben Chilwell starting in his position.

Well, United now want to sign Cucurella on loan. That is what Romano is saying, anyway. If the finances of a loan deal are favourable to United, there is no reason why they should not make this signing. It’s still a bit amusing, though.

Romano dropped the transfer bombshell on Saturday night, saying Ten Hag’s side have “made contact with Chelsea to ask about conditions of Marc Cucurella deal on potential loan”. Nothing is “concrete” at this stage, however.

NOT THE ENDO THINGS
Liverpool need one more midfielder after signing Wataru Endo and it appears Jurgen Klopp is not oblivious to that fact. The German wanted Romeo Lavia, then he wanted Moises Caicedo and he ended up getting tangled up in two transfer races with Chelsea and came second best in both, which must hurt considering how rubbish the Blues have been. Money talks, huh?

One player Liverpool have been strongly linked with is Crystal Palace’s Cheick Doucoure, though it has to be said they are getting dangerously close to being forced to spend ridiculous money on the Malian.

With less than a week left until the transfer deadline, Palace would really struggle to replace Doucoure if he is sold, so are bound to be asking for a monstrous fee, if they even give a price.

According to Football Insider, Doucoure is ‘at the top of Liverpool’s shortlist’ and remain ‘keen’ despite Palace’s £70m asking price. Will they bite the bullet? Knowing FSG…probably not.
