I Don’t Take Sides – Iyanya Shuts Down Claims of Choosing Between Wizkid and Davido

Afrobeats Star Insists “No Beef” With Any Artist Amid Ongoing Industry Feuds

Nigerian singer Iyanya has firmly dismissed rumors that he’s picked a side in the long-running rivalry between Afrobeats giants Wizkid and Davido, declaring himself a neutral supporter of all Nigerian artists.

The “Sexy Mama” crooner found himself dragged into the fan wars after an X user accused him of abandoning Wizkid – his former collaborator – to become “Davido’s boy.” But Iyanya quickly shut down the claims, emphasizing that he maintains love and respect for all his colleagues.

“We’re All One Family” – Iyanya Breaks Silence

In a candid response, the Mavin Records artist revealed how he actively listens to music from all his peers, including Wizkid’s Made in Lagos and Morayo albums.

“Most artists won’t say this, but we’re actually the first to check out new projects when they drop,” Iyanya explained. “It’s part of our job to stay updated on the sound and the game.”

He also playfully referenced his recent night out with Burna Boy as proof that there’s no bad blood between artists, despite what fans might believe.

Fan Wars vs. Industry Reality

The “Kukere” hitmaker urged fans to stop pushing false narratives, tweeting in Pidgin: “I dey play all songs, and I no get enemy. Na una fans dey try push agenda wey no dey.”

His comments come at a tense time in the Afrobeats scene, with Wizkid and Davido’s intermittent social media spats frequently sparking heated debates among their loyal fanbases.

Iyanya’s stance serves as a reminder that while fans may fuel divisions, many artists themselves operate as one big creative community – even if they occasionally compete on the charts.
