Music Mogul Gets Candid About Relationships in Revealing Interview, Says He Can’t “Switch Off” Attraction to Others
Nigerian music industry heavyweight Don Jazzy has sparked conversations after making a frank confession about his views on love and commitment, admitting he doesn’t believe he’s cut out for a monogamous relationship.
The Mavin Records boss opened up during a recent interview with media personality Nancy Isime, where he revealed that he finds it difficult to focus his romantic attention on just one woman. Unlike those who naturally “switch off” their attraction to others when in a relationship, Don Jazzy says he simply doesn’t work that way.
“I don’t believe I am strong enough to be with one person,” he admitted with a laugh. “I think people will run away from me if I’m being completely truthful. If I’m dating you, I won’t tell you you’re the only one—because that’s not how I’m wired.”
The 41-year-old producer and executive went on to praise those who effortlessly commit to one partner, saying, “Some people have this thing where, when they’re dating someone, whatever makes them attracted to others just turns off. I salute those people! But for me… you’re a beautiful lady, but that doesn’t stop me from admiring the woman over there.”
His honest take has since stirred mixed reactions online, with some applauding his transparency while others question whether his stance reflects a broader shift in modern dating attitudes.
Known for his influential role in shaping Nigeria’s music scene, Don Jazzy has rarely spoken about his personal life in such detail. This rare glimpse into his perspective on love has left fans both surprised and intrigued—especially since the famously private mogul has never been publicly linked to a long-term relationship.
Whether his admission sparks debate or empathy, one thing is clear: Don Jazzy isn’t pretending to be someone he’s not. And in a world where celebrities often curate perfect images, his unfiltered honesty is certainly refreshing.
