JJC Skillz Reopens Old Wounds, Accuses Don Jazzy and D’banj of UK-Era Betrayal

Veteran Singer Alleges Conspiracy and Broken Trust During Early Struggles in London

Veteran singer and producer Abdulrasheed Bello, popularly known as JJC Skillz, has leveled serious allegations of betrayal against former protégés and associates, including music moguls Don Jazzy and D’banj, recounting a painful chapter from their early days in the United Kingdom.

In a candid interview on Echo Room, JJC Skillz revisited the foundational years of what would become the Mo’Hits movement, claiming he was the primary supporter before a shocking conspiracy unfolded against him.

“Don Jazzy, D’banj, Ayo, DJ Abass; all of them conspired against me,” he stated. He explained that he initially met the group when they were running a small TV station and that he took them under his wing. “Nobody knew them back then,” he emphasized. “I was the one taking them to shows, accommodating, feeding, and clothing them.”

The relationship allegedly soured when JJC Skillz, describing himself as a “JJC” (newcomer) to the Nigerian scene, asked for their help to connect with industry figures back home. They introduced him to promoter Bankulli, but JJC Skillz now believes their cooperation masked other plans.

The breaking point came when he received news, via rapper Ruggedman, that D’banj and Don Jazzy were leaving his group and accusing him of cheating them financially. “I was shocked… How can I be cheating when you haven’t made any money?” he questioned, his voice still carrying the hurt of the memory years later.

The allegations have reignited discussions about the complex origins of one of Nigeria’s most successful music partnerships, casting a shadow over a celebrated legacy with a story of early struggle, sacrifice, and alleged betrayal.
