Jorginho Admits Arsenal Players “Laugh” at Haaland’s Goal Scoring Prowess Ahead of Man City Clash

Gunners Prepare to Face Record-Breaking Striker in Premier League Showdown

Arsenal midfielder Jorginho has confessed that the Gunners can only “laugh” at Erling Haaland’s phenomenal goal-scoring record as they prepare for a crucial match against Manchester City this Sunday. City will host Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium in a top-of-the-table Premier League clash, with both teams vying for the title.

Haaland has been in sensational form this season, having netted an astounding nine goals in just four Premier League matches. His tally means he has scored more goals than any other team in the league so far.

Reflecting on Haaland’s incredible statistics, Jorginho remarked, “Erling scoring again, it is starting to make us laugh. We look at City’s results because we love football and the Premier League. It doesn’t get to our heads, though. We focus on us and what we are doing.”

Haaland’s overall record since joining Manchester City in 2022 is equally impressive, with 99 goals in just 103 appearances. The Norwegian striker has a release clause in his contract, reportedly worth €200 million, which becomes valid in the summer of 2024 for clubs outside the Premier League. The clause is expected to decrease annually, with a second minimum fee release clause of €175 million being triggered in 2025.

As Arsenal aim to get a positive result against City, Jorginho emphasized the importance of focusing on their own performance. “We have to keep believing in what we’re doing, working hard to improve. We’re on the right path, and we need to keep it going,” he added.
