French Midfielder Faces Contract Termination Following Doping Violation
Reports suggest that Juventus is preparing to terminate the contract of midfielder Paul Pogba after the player received a four-year doping ban, marking a significant development in the ongoing controversy surrounding the football star.
News emerged on Thursday regarding Pogba’s suspension from football for a duration of four years due to a doping offense. The ban stems from Pogba’s provisional suspension in September following the discovery of DHEA, a substance known to increase testosterone levels, in his initial sample. This substance, associated with enhancing athletes’ endurance, was detected after Juventus’ match against Udinese on August 20, with Pogba present on the bench during the Serie A fixture.
Sky in Italy reports that Pogba intends to appeal the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, seeking to contest the ban imposed on him. The French midfielder has consistently maintained his innocence, with his agent Rafaela Pimenta stating that Pogba never intended to breach any rules.
