Juventus to Punish Paul Pogba for Unauthorized Media Interviews

French midfielder faces disciplinary action as Juventus prepares to terminate his contract.

Paul Pogba is set to face disciplinary action from Juventus following a series of unauthorized interviews, according to reports from Italian media. The 31-year-old midfielder, who recently had his four-year doping ban reduced to 18 months, conducted exclusive interviews with major English and Italian outlets in Paris earlier this week, discussing his career and expressing his desire to return to the Juventus squad.

Despite Pogba’s public statements about his love for the club and ambition to play for Juventus again, the Italian side was reportedly angered by the fact that the interviews were done without their approval. Juventus, who have been considering terminating Pogba’s contract, now plan to take action against the Frenchman for breaching protocol.

Gazzetta dello Sport reported that Juventus was displeased with Pogba’s actions, stating, “Whatever Pogba’s intentions, the way he made his thoughts known to the world through a meeting in Paris with some major international newspapers did not please Juve at all, who had not been notified by the player, had not given their consent and will take disciplinary action.”

Although Pogba expressed his emotional attachment to Juventus and his hope of returning to the pitch in March 2025, it appears unlikely that the club will change its plans to move on from the World Cup winner. Juventus is reportedly looking to terminate his contract, citing physical, behavioral, and economic reasons as they move forward with their long-term project.

Pogba, who had played just over 200 minutes for the Bianconeri before his doping ban, now faces an uncertain future as Juventus looks to part ways with the former Manchester United star.
