PSG Star’s Wage Demands Signal Potential Record-Breaking Transfer Deal
Speculation surrounding Kylian Mbappe’s future has intensified as reports suggest the French forward has informed Real Madrid of his salary expectations, requesting an eye-watering €50 million (£43 million) per year to join the club from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer this summer.
Mbappe’s looming departure from PSG has been a topic of discussion in recent days, with growing indications that he has set his sights on a move to the Spanish capital.
The 25-year-old, who can terminate his contract with PSG at the end of the season, is reportedly inclined towards joining Real Madrid despite rumored interest from Premier League clubs.
While Mbappe has yet to formally communicate his decision to PSG, an official announcement could be imminent, prompting the French giants to shift their focus towards securing a replacement for the prolific forward.
According to Cadena SER, Mbappe has conveyed to Real Madrid his desire for a staggering annual salary of €50 million (£43 million), positioning him among the highest-paid footballers in Europe. However, this figure falls short of the astronomical wages earned by the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, and Karim Benzema in Saudi Arabia.
Mbappe’s wage demands, if met, would substantially surpass the earnings of Real Madrid’s current top earners. Additionally, the World Cup winner is reportedly seeking a substantial signing bonus, with requests for a signing-on fee of €120 million (£102.3 million) and a 60/40 split in favor of image rights at the Bernabeu.
While Mbappe was widely expected to join Real Madrid on a free transfer in 2022 before opting to extend his contract with PSG, his status as one of the premier talents in world football has made him a coveted target once again.
With an impressive record of 241 goals and 105 assists in 288 appearances for PSG, Mbappe’s contributions on the field have solidified his reputation as one of the sport’s elite players.
