Kylian Mbappe Nears Real Madrid Move with €250m Transfer Fee Agreement

Madrid – In a significant development, Real Madrid is on the verge of securing the services of long-term target Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) this summer. According to a French report, the Spanish giants have reportedly reached an agreement with PSG, agreeing to pay a whopping €250 million for the French forward.

Last week, reports emerged stating that Mbappe had informed PSG that he would not be exercising the option to extend his contract until 2025, indicating that he would be available on a free transfer next summer. Concerned about losing him without compensation, the French champions are now open to selling him in the current transfer window. However, Mbappe himself remains firm in his stance that he will continue playing for PSG during the 2023/24 campaign. Responding to a tweet from Le Parisien suggesting his desire to join Real Madrid this summer, the 24-year-old took to Twitter and wrote, “LIES… The bigger it is, the more it passes. I have already stated that I will stay at PSG next season, where I am very happy.”

Real Madrid has been persistently pursuing the talented forward in previous summer windows, but their efforts have been fruitless thus far. However, that seems destined to change as the world transfer record appears set to be shattered in the coming weeks. PSG Community reports that Real Madrid and PSG have agreed on a deal worth €250 million. It is worth noting that Neymar is currently the most expensive player in history, with PSG paying €222 million to secure his services from Barcelona in 2017.

According to the French outlet, officials from PSG and Real Madrid held a meeting on Wednesday to discuss the potential transfer, with negotiations reportedly “accelerated.” The report further indicates that PSG owner Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, and Real Madrid president Florentino Perez have exchanged messages and reached an agreement.

Under the terms of the agreement, Mbappe will initially cost €200 million, despite having just one year remaining on his current contract. Real Madrid will also be obliged to pay an additional €50 million in bonus-related payments if Mbappe achieves certain on-field achievements, including specific trophies and individual accolades like the Ballon d’Or. With Karim Benzema’s move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad and Vinicius Jr. occupying the left-wing role, Mbappe is expected to assume the position of Madrid’s new striker.

Madrid’s recent signing, Joselu, could provide Mbappe with the opportunity to operate from a slightly wider starting position, allowing him to avoid playing with his back to the goal, something he has previously expressed a dislike for. With the impending move, football fans around the world eagerly await Mbappe’s transfer to Real Madrid, which promises to be one of the most significant deals in recent history.
